The Senior Director of Marketing & Business Development is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives and new business opportunities to help achieve the goals of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority through leadership, collaboration, change management, innovative partnerships, sophisticated brand development/management, destination stewardship and capitalization on technological resources. The Senior Director of Marketing & Business Development oversees programs related to integrated marketing, advertising, media buying, official publications and collateral, web strategy, event and meetings marketing, and conference and group inquiries. He manages the day-to-day operations of the marketing and group sales departments.

The Director of Tourism is responsible for promoting and marketing the south shore of Lake Tahoe and oversees the tourism development initiative while understanding the needs and capacity of the destination and community and following the destination’s mission, vision, and strategy. While being responsible for travel trade distribution throughout all opportunities on a domestic and international level, he is also a data and research champion and participates in destination sustainability implementation.

Also responsible for responding to online requests for information from individuals, weddings, and small groups. In addition, this position has oversight of Visitor Center operations at Explore Tahoe Visitor Center in the Heavenly Village.

Through strategic outreach, relationship development, and performance tracking, the position increases bookings, room nights, and overall destination impact across local, regional, and national markets.
